On Friday June 11th 2021, Impact Philanthropy Africa held its virtual Education in Kenya workshop. We convened 60 participants, representing foundations, government, civil society, academia, the private sector, and other philanthropy networks.
Lack of proper education and limited access to knowledge are the main factors at the core of African problems in the education sector. There is an education crisis in both formal and non-formal education in many African countries. A crisis, which if left unaddressed, will undermine a countries’ ability to achieve not only the SDG goals, but the overall sustainable development of the country.
The workshop objective was to review the situational analysis around the education sector. Members heard from experts and thought leaders on how Kenya is performing with regards to meeting the education targets and indicators as captured in the country’s development agenda.
